Guy Blakeslee may have spent his formative years in Baltimore and done time in Chicago, but "Lookout!" is a pretty certain indicator that his Entrance Band been breathing in the Southern California air long enough for it to seep into his veins.

Taken from their self-titled new Ecstatic Peace/Universal album, "Lookout!" sounds a little like Sunset Strip 1967, a little like SST 1986 (anybody remember Painted Willie?), with a little bit of Topanga/Laurel Neil Young thing going on.

The Entrance Band launches a tour with Amazing Baby tonight at the Troubadour; also joining the bill is Night Horse, which LA Weekly's Drew Tewksbury profiled a few weeks back.

Here are the dates for the entire Entrance Band/Amazing Baby tour:

September

23 - Los Angeles, Calif. at the Troubadour

26 - Denver. Colo. at the Larimer Lounge

27 - Omaha, Neb. at Slowdown

29 - Indianapolis, Ind. at Radio Radio

30 - Cleveland, Ohio at the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern

October

1 - Washington, D.C. at DC9

2 - Philadelphia, Pa. at Johnny Brenda's

3 - New York, N.Y. at the Bowery Ballroom
