The Tomashefsky Project
Michael Tilson Thomas conducts this performance of a work he created, one that’s particularly dear to his heart. It’s the culmination of a 10-year project researching and reconstructing the music of the Yiddish theater as performed by the famed Thomashefsky troupe in the late 19th- and early 20th centuries. (Tilson Thomas is the grandson of Bessie and Boris Thomashefsky.) Cast includes Nearl Benari, Judy Blazer, Eugene Brancoveanu and Ronit Widmann-Levy. Directed by Patricia Birch.
