A large “flash mob” from a street takeover vandalized and looted a Los Angeles 7-Eleven convenience store on Monday.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the incident that took place at the convenience store on the corner of Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard.

At around 12:40 a.m., the “takeover” began, with cars blocking off intersections from the general public and creating a “pit” and doing donuts on the street, according to LAPD.

Surveillance footage from the 7-Eleven showed dozens in the street takeover flash mob make their way to the store’s parking lot, before entering and causing a raucous.

Individuals could be seen not only stealing product, but throwing it toward the employee behind the checkout counter.

Individuals then began hopping over the counter and grabbing merchandise behind the register and throwing it over to the crowd on the other side.

“Looters also vandalized the store and threw merchandise at employees,” LAPD said in a media release. “The looters then exited the store to the surrounding parking lots and streets, and quickly dispersed before police arrived.”

LAPD said it would be using the surveillance video to identify and arrest individuals involved in the flash mob.

At a separate takeover that night, a teen was shot and killed in Willowbrook, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

The teen was described as a Hispanic male and was unresponsive when LASD deputies arrived on-scene. He was then rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. No suspect or vehicle information was available for the incident.
