Tomorrow in Pasadena, Mama's Small Business Kitchen Incubator will be hosting an open house and food event. Just so you know that Pasadena is good for things other than frilly parades and QB-crunching BCS title games. Step over any remaining passed-out Bama fans and check out an “Iron Chef-style” cook-off between Pasadena mayor Bill Bogaard, Episcopal Diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Bruno, and Henry T. Nicolas, III, at 1 p.m. Food will be provided by graduates of the Incubator, a non-profit that rents at low cost a 1,500 square-foot fully-equipped and licensed kitchen to entrepreneurs just starting businesses, including Flying Pig Truck and the just-opened Bonnie B's Smokin Barbeque Heaven, among others. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is free and provides complementary valet parking.
