Megan Driscoll had been running a custom desserts catering company since 2006 until she found the perfect little storefront for her bakery, Eat Sweets Pastry on Gayley Avenue in Westwood Village, just a stone's throw from In-N-Out. The bakery quietly opened on June 2, replacing La Galetta. Students and faculty from UCLA are already knee-deep in lavender-honey baklava, brown-butter brownies, vanilla shortbread blueberry jam bars, cupcakes, chocolate-dipped marshmallow lollipops and more.

“I want people to feel special coming in, like they're really treating themselves. I love what I do and hope it makes my customers equally happy,” says Driscoll, who has worked as a chef at Joe's Restaurant. The current menu is based on customer requests. Think dark chocolate truffles, gooey homemade chocolate chip cookies, tarts and other assortments. The signature shortbread cookie with almond frosting is a must.
