Though it's been on draft since April, the Heal The Bay IPA is coming out in cans next week -- and we have an exclusive sneak peek on what the four-packs look like, as well as the two beach clean-up events that will accompany the launch. Turn the page for the details.
Inspired by Golden Road co-owner Meg Gill's weekend surf excursions in Santa Monica, proceeds from the light and citrus-y Heal the Bay IPA will go towards funding the prominent nonprofit's efforts to make Southern California's watersheds safe, healthy and clean.
But beyond just donating money, Golden Road has convinced several beer-centric retailers to feature the beer. And they recently released information about two upcoming beach clean-up days -- one on June 15 at the Venice Pier and another on June 22 in Manhattan Beach.
On June 15, Heal the Bay will be hosting a "Nothin' But Sand" beach clean-up from 10 a.m. to noon at the Venice Pier (click here to sign up). Afterwards, Whole Foods Market Venice will be hosting a special tasting of Heal the Bay IPA where clean-up volunteers will be given a free reusable bag and $1 from each draft beer sold that day will be donated to Heal the Bay. Whole Foods will also be donating $1 dollar for every four-pack sold (up to $5000), while supplies last.
Simmzy's Manhattan Beach will be co-hosting another beach clean-up on June 22 and Simmzy's Long Beach will be featuring Heal the Bay cans in their popular Tacos and Tallboys promotion on Tuesday nights through July.
And thanks to 213 Nightlife, cans of the specialty IPA will also be featured at Cole's, Casey's, Tony's Saloon, Seven Grand, Las Perlas and 4100 bar in downtown Los Angeles.
