L.A. County Fair Holds Deep-Fried Food Contest: You Choose, They Fry

It's hard to tell whether the (in)famous Chicken Charlie has run out of artery-clogging ideas or simply experienced a populist streak when he cooked up this idea: The L.A. County Fair will be taking suggestions for a new deep-fried treat to be made available at this September's fair.

Facebook fans are invited to post their ideas for the next Chicken Charlie stand creation -- be it breaded, grilled, stuffed or deep-fried (let's face it, it's going to be deep-fried). The person who submits the winning idea on the L.A. County Fair Facebook page (submissions are accepted until 5 p.m. today) chosen by Charlie himself, will receive two season passes for the fair and one free parking pass.
