It wasn't all that easy to get approval to peddle booze, though. Pera's usually situates itself outside Tavern on the Green in Central Park, and community board members were concerned that serving alcohol there could lead to underage drinking, as well as to an increase in people walking the streets with open containers.
Still, authorization went through, and our friends at the Village Voice report that two more Central Park trucks are planning to apply for a liquor license as well.
As for what (apparently) pairs well with Turkish tacos, the truck's drink menu currently includes Corona and Blue Moon beer, Jacob's Creek Chardonnay and Merlot, as well as Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Jim Beam bourbon and Jameson Irish whiskey.
Do we hope L.A. food trucks follow suit? Do we have to ask?
