Best Yogurt for Your Health

What really separates one yogurt shop from the next? We think it's the irritation factor. Pinkberry is delish but filled with annoying, trendy people soon to be appearing at the next hot spot near you. Yogotango is yummy too, but who knows whose sticky fingers have poked at the copious topping choices, provided generously but without proper monitoring. A new spot with none of these annoyances is the laid-back Real. Raw. Live. Located among the great bars, restaurants and wee cinema along the Franklin Strip, RRL is a health-food shop that serves organic smoothies, fresh juices, cleansers and other liquid meals along with its plain and green-tea frozen yogurt.

But you don't have to be a raw-food purist to appreciate the tart, refreshing flavor of the yogurt, which is available with an eclectic mix of fruit, nuts and specialty toppings, including raw almonds, yacon syrup (tastes like molasses) and raw cocoa powder and nibs (roasted and husked cocoa beans, rich in magnesium).

If you belly up to the long juice bar, the staff is happy to recommend a wellness shot, hangover tonic or specialty smoothie. If you choose the "Ultimate Slimming" smoothie, a combination of kale, celery, green apple, dandelion, coriander, lemon ginger, parsley and sea salt, know that it is not for the squeamish.

The walls are lined with dozens of niche brands of vitamins and mineral supplements, and a nutritionist can help you out with everyday health crises — whether you're nursing a hangover or just plain nursing.
