Punk Party in the Graveyard: The Johnny Ramone Tribute at Hollywood Forever

Punk fans old and young gathered on the Fairbanks lawn under a hazy summer sky at Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sunday, July 30, in tribute to punk legend Johnny Ramone. Thirteen years after his death, Ramone's widow, Linda, has kept the annual event going strong. There was an acoustic performance by Fred Armisen, Steve Jones and Billy Idol, followed by a screening of Buffalo 66, one of Ramone’s favorite films, starring and directed by close friend Vincent Gallo. Also featured was an homage to Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, a close friend of Johnny and Linda Ramone, who recently was laid to rest next to Johnny.
