On the opening night of Beyond Brookledge headliner Prince Poppycock surprised the crowd by spewing confetti from a large champagne bottle into the audience. It was a worthy celebration for a day that had (among many performances) Lindsay Benner paint herself green, Jonathan Pendragon perform the fastest metamorphosis illusion in the history of magic, Rudy Coby push a nail through his head, Barbara Duffy and Marquis Howell II duet in Glenwood Tavern, and Kristian Hoffman, songwriter and keyboardist for New York City cult favorite the Mumps, provide musical direction for three of the five shows.
