"Magical Girls: Art Inspired by Shojo Manga" opened at Meltdown Comics Friday night. Presented by Sweet Streets, the show served as L.A.'s official introduction to Japanese art collective Shibuya Girls Pop. Artists Camilla d'Errico, Junko Mizuno, Bei Badgirl and Miss Kika were also part of the show. The opening night party featured live painting from Shibuya Girls Pop members Eimi, Shinjuko, Sayaka Iwashimizu and Hiroshi Mori. The Lady Spade and The Aprils played live, while Tavuchi from popular Harajuku shop Spank! judged a cosplay contest. All photos by Shannon Cottrell.
