M83 packed the Fonda on Saturday Nov. 29 for a sold out Thanksgiving weekend show. The lush textures coming from the stage set just the right tone to start winding this holiday weekend to a close. If you missed the show, opening band School of Seven Bells plays Wednesday Dec. 3 at the Airliner but M83 is off to Europe so you'll have to wait until next time.
The MySpace suicide trial ended today with three guilty verdicts against Lori Drew, the 49-year-old Missouri mother who created a fake MySpace account to torment a 13-year-old girl who wound up committing suicide. Comedy icon Sandra Bernhard invited us backstage to hang in her dressing room prior to a revival performance of her landmark one-woman show Without You I’m Nothing at the Orpheum. On November 23 the annual Doo Dah Parade Queen Tryouts were held at the American Legion Hall in Pasadena. Royal hopefuls came in costume and performed their best talents for a panel of beer-guzzling judges. Best part? Dr. Demento was the MC, introducing the event by saying, "Behind every good man is a woman..."

Of Montreal and Health performed the Palladium on November 22.
