Photographer Nanette Gonzales went to Hollywood Forever Cemetery during the day on Saturday, October 22, to capture the ceremonial activities, including the setting up of the altars and the walking procession. She returned in the evening to find crowds with faces painted like calaveras and wearing Day of the Dead-inspired clothing. The entire day was a celebration, remembering loved ones who have passed and honoring the cycle of life.
