It's December at Los Angeles farmers markets, where farmers have been loading their tables with produce and specialty items for the holidays. Fresh mistletoe and the wonderful dried persimmons called hoshigaki, as well as baskets of citrus and Yali pears and the mathematical whorls of Romanesco cauliflower.
