Volunteers Wanted at the Santa Monica Farmers Markets
Garcia Farms peaches
If you've always wanted to be part of a local farmers market, here's your chance. Hang out with farmers, learn about where your food comes from, stalk local chefs FAR more efficiently, shop early for your Santa Rosa plums and breakfast radishes and ridiculously cool melons while the marine layer rolls in off the nearby Pacific -- all while you do a little good work. How?
The Santa Monica Farmers Markets are looking for volunteers to help out at Saturday markets at least once a month. Volunteers should be responsible, have great customer-service skills and enjoy working outdoors with a wide variety of people. Perks include being surrounded by wonderful farmers and fantastic produce (see above). If you're interested, please call (310) 458-871, extension 2, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
