Umami Truck Debuts at Festivus 2009: Mobile Burger Battle on the Horizon?
After a couple false starts, the eagerly awaited Umami Truck made its debut Wednesday night at Festivus 2009 at the Crocker Club downtown. And soon Umami-owner Adam Fleischman's new mobile food venture will bring the fifth taste to the streets, which are daily growing more crowded with gourmet food trucks. Indeed, in the next couple weeks Umami Truck will be joined by another burger truck, Grill Em All, which features burgers with a "heavy metal edge", for a stake in the mobile burger market formerly cornered by Baby's Badass Burgers. Is that a burger truck rumble we smell?
