If watching male politicians go into overdrive trying to limit women's access to birth control left you with a queasy feeling, perhaps you'll want to attend the annual Planned Parenthood Food Fare. The headliner is chef Suzanne Goin (Lucques, AOC, Tavern) along with an enviable roster of kitchen talent including Susan Feinger (Border Grill, Street), Alain Giraud (Maison Giraud), Brendan Collins (Waterloo & City), Bryant Ng (Spice Table), Gino Angelini (Angelini Osteria) and many more.

French New Orleans
Cultural historian Albert Sonnenfeld discusses the food culture of the Big Easy, especially the French Catholic connection as a refuge from Cromwellian austerity.

Cast Iron Gourmet founder Rashida Purifoy visits the Surfas Test Kitchen to teach a class in step-by-step bacon preparation as well as other delicious porky dishes.

Foie Gras Dinner
House chef Greg Daniels welcomes guest chefs David Coleman (Michaels on Naples), Vartan Abgaryan (Public Bar & Kitchen), Alex Reznik (La Seine), Jordan Toft (Eveleigh) and Brendan Collins (Waterloo & City, Larry's) to step behind the stoves for this foie-centric 7-course feast.

Paris Cookbook Fair
It certainly isn't local, but if you can get John Travolta to fly you to France on his private plane, it should be a breeze. This five-day affair (the first three days are only for pros; the last two are open to everyone) is the world's largest cookbook festival with tons of cooking demos, presentations, tastings and book sellers.
