Thai New Year
To ring in the Thai New Year, RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen will give out a free shrimp toast appetizer with croutons, water chestnuts, jalapeños, chives and Sambal mayonnaise during both lunch and dinner. Thai musicians and dancers are scheduled to perform.

Venice Surf and Skate Festival
It's a festival and swap meet in one with live music, food and beer. There will be a charity raffle, with proceeds going toward the Venice Boys & Girls Club.

3rd Anniversary of Tony's Darts Away
The Burbank beer bar is celebrating its third anniversary with Darts Away IPA (an Imperial IPA at 9.65% ABV) as well as a menu of sausages (vegan and non) and vegan biscuits with gravy. Fifteen dollars buys a keepsake glass of the IPA along with an insider's fast pass to specialty taps, like the 2010 Russian River Sanctification and 2011 Lost Abbey Angel Share, set for release throughout the weekend. Keepsake glass holders get a 30-minute head start on specialty tappings.

11th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational
It has been a little more than a decade since Tim Walker launched a competition where -- if you're a fan of grilled cheese -- there are no losers. There's still space to register as a competitor, which costs $50. Along with grilled cheese, there will be a beer garden and entertainment.
