The folks at Bell cantina Corazon y Miel will be traveling to Pasadena, putting on a Tailgating Feast pop-up at Ix Tapa Cantina in Old Town. Sharable, tailgate-inspired plates include chef Eduardo Ruiz's pan con chompipe (his justly famous 3-pound turkey leg sandwich), roasted pork shoulder with duck gravy, grilled branzino with black mole, and mescal and tequila-based beverages. What Shakespeare Ate: Dining in the Elizabethan Age
The California International Antiquarian Book Fair celebrates William Shakespeare's 450th birthday with a special exhibit and panel discussion, "What Shakespeare Ate: Dining in the Elizabethan Age." Panelists include Los Angeles Times restaurant critic Jonathan Gold; food historian Charles Perry, and James Beard Award - winning cookbook author Anne Willan. Rare books on Elizabethan-era food and cookery will be spotlighted in the Shakespeare exhibit.
