Don’t get distracted by places with names like Bob’s Big Boy or Big Wangs. There are bigger and better options in L.A. for when you really want to go large. Think 20-square-foot pizza and you're on the right track.

Let that belt out a notch with any of these super-sized items, which are among the biggest bites in in the city:

Manuel's special burrito

El Tepeyac

Biggest Burrito
Weighing it at around five pounds, the burrito at El Tepeyac Cafe in Boyle Heights is the creation of the late Manuel Rojas. Since 1942, the Rojas family has kept the tradition going strong (as you can tell by the lines). If you can finish a pollo, asada, machaca or pork-stuffed version of “Manuel’s Special,” you get a T-shirt and online immortality. 812 N. Evergreen Ave., Boyle Heights; (323) 268-1960; manuelseltepeyac.com.

Big Mama's & Papa's Pizzeria

Biggest Pizza
Big Mama’s and Papa’s offers the largest delivered pizza in the world, the “Giant Sicilian,” which measures a staggering 54 by 54 inches. If a big-screen-sized pizza is too much, all the regular menu options go as large as the 36-inch Big Papa. Among those options, “The Works” — with all the available toppings — will leave you a few bucks change from a Benjamin. At locations across the city. www.bigmamaspizza.com.

Pink's

Biggest Hot Dog
According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (which really exists and has the best web address in the business), L.A. residents consume more hot dogs than any other city (40 million per year). Unsurprisingly, the largest hot dog in the city can be found at the place most tourists will visit: Pink’s at Melrose and LaBrea, which offers two variations on foot-long jalapeño dogs. America the Beautiful is loaded with pastrami, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes, while the Millennium Dog comes with tomatoes, chili, guacamole, grilled onions and lettuce. What a wiener! 709 N. Biggest Steak
In Italian the name of this restaurant means “he who cleaves” – and you’ll need all your knife skills to slice up Chi Spacca's monster 50-ounce Bistecca Fiorentina, a prime dry-aged porterhouse that for $210 can easily feed a whole table of diners. If you finish the whole hunk and are further inspired by chef Chad Colby's meaty Melrose hangout, try the restaurant's other butcher-block creations, from charcuterie and "pork butter" to a hulking beef and bone marrow pie. 6610 Melrose Ave., Hancock Park; (323) 297-1133; chispacca.com

Biggest Candies
Still have room left? At the appropriately named "Giant Section" inside It’Sugar locations in Santa Monica and Venice, the shelves are loaded with cartoon-sized boxes of popular candy such as Nerds, Rice Krispie Treats, Twizzlers and Hershey’s Kisses. The ensuing extreme sugar high will be followed by an equally intense crash, but you didn't come here for moderation, did you? Various locations across the city; www.itsugar.com.
