Thanksgiving Round-Up Part Deux: Where To Get To-Go Turkey
A reminder that Thanksgiving's right around the corner. Like a week from today. If it's all becoming too daunting, or if you just need some help, here's a follow-up list of dine-in and to-go options, including a kosher restaurant and holiday dinners with Cajun, Southern and Scottish twists on the more traditional. (Here is our first Thanksgiving to-go list.) Of course, there's always the seriously low-key approach, involving a lot of football and your wild turkey in a bottle. Or in a paper bag, which is about as to-go as you can get.
The hostess with the mostess doesn't necessarily need to make everything from scratch. Leave your favorite pie dishes with the chefs at The Village Bakery in Atwater Village, and they'll leave your guests wondering how you managed to do it all. Pie flavors include pumpkin, dutch apple and chocolate pecan. Also available on the baked goods to-go menu: Cranberry-walnut, pumpkin, and rustic rolls; pumpkin cupcakes, lemon-rosemary-olive oil cakes and double chocolate walnut brownies. Orders must be placed by Monday and will be ready for pick-up until noon on Thanksgiving day.

2. Little Dom's
Chef Brandon Boudet's Cajun-Italian Thanksgiving-to-go, family-style menu is comprised of organic, 12-pound, deep fried turkey with homemade fennel sausage stuffing, roasted brussels sprouts with wild boar bacon and sweet potato gratin. The meal, which serves six to eight people comes with several desserts options, including apple and Pecorino cheese crostata, gingerbread cupcakes and spiced pepita brittle. Orders must be placed by 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 24th and picked up no later than 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving.

3. Pat's Restaurant
The glatt kosher restaurant, owned by Errol Fine and his wife, Pat, are serving a Thanksgiving prix fixe meal from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Dishes to be served: Persimmon, pomegranate, grilled asparagus and arugula salad; butternut squash soup; turkey with chestnut bread stuffing; brisket, and crispy salmon. Non-dairy desserts include their version of pumpkin cheese cake with caramel bourbon sauce. You're kosher relatives will thank you. $44 adults; $27 children under 12; $12 children under five. Dine and sip wine on Vinoteque's outdoor patio, sampling chef Joshua Smookler's holiday three-course prix fixe menu of butternut squash soup, wild mushroom risotto, prime rib, turkey, ravioli and sea bass. For dessert: Tartine, bread pudding or pumpkin pie with ginger ice cream. $55 per person, $70 with a wine supplement.

Though you won't be able to munch on Tender Green's most popular dish, their salads, you can choose from a handful of sweets. Priced at $40 per order, choose from apple bread pudding, pumpkin tart, banana cream pie, coconut cream pie and apple crumb tart. Orders must be placed by Sunday and picked up Wednesday, November 25th at 5 p.m.

6. Morel's French Steakhouse & Bistro
Morel's Balvenie Scotch dinner comes a bit too early for Thanksgiving (it's tomorrow night at 7 p.m.), but will line your stomach for the big week ahead. Andrew Weir, Balvenie scotch ambassador and guest speaker for the night is visiting from Scotland for a four-course meal with scotch pairings from his brewery. The $75 per person meal comes with scotch-cured salmon, roasted quail, ribeye and chocolate souffle.

7. Henry's Hat
Opening early on Thanksgiving day, at 9 a.m., Henry's Hat is serving brunch until its Southern buffet dinner begins at 2 p.m. In addition to special menu items such as deep fried herb brined turkey and corn bread stuffing, the Studio City gastropub is pouring signature cocktails-- Luna Park mojitos and Bloody Mary's, which are two-for-one pricing during brunch. If you have room, bottomless mimosas and sangria will be served throughout the feast. $20 per person. Free for children under eight.
