Pre-Earth Day PSA from the Producers of "The Cove"
The filmmakers-cum-spies behind The Cove are back in the news just in time for Earth Day with a new celebrity-laden PSA warning again of the brutal dolphin slaughters taking place in Japan. This PSA adds to the crew's reputation as staunch defenders of marine mammals, building on The Cove's Academy Award win for Best Documentary and their undercover sting at the whale-serving sushi restaurant The Hump in Santa Monica, which, in hindsight, maybe wasn't the smartest name.
You can sign the petition associated with the video, calling on our government to take immediate action to stop the slaughtering of dolphins and protecting Japanese diners who can face serious health threats from eating the falsely labeled, mercury-laden meat.
