L.A. Couple Arrested For Growing Psychedelic Mushrooms
If pot brownies are becoming passé, what with the casual surfeit of medical marijuana dispensaries all over town, there's always the psilocybin mushroom omelet. The L.A. Times reports that L.A. County sheriff's deputies arrested a Lake Los Angeles couple yesterday for growing hallucinogenic mushrooms. "We don't see a lot of that -- mainly in the last couple years we've seen marijuana growth inside public residences," said Deputy Keith Ho.
Deputies found the couple, "several firearms and a psychedelic mushroom operation in a small bedroom closet" of the vacant home. Guess it wasn't so vacant. No word about the occupancy of the kitchen.
Disclaimer: Of course we in no way suggest that you cook with anything other than normal edible mushrooms. But this YouTube video, cut strangely, perhaps mercifully short, is notable for its one cooking direction: "mix it around just like Giada would."
