Suzanne Goin is nominated (again) for Outstanding Chef.
Travis Lett is nominated for his cookbook Gjelina.
We had no nominees in many national award categories, including Rising Star Chef, Best New Restaurant, Outstanding Service and Outstanding Restaurant. If you're interested in the process or what I think L.A. needs to do in order to actually secure some awards, here's an essay I wrote on those topics back when the semifinalists were announced.
You can see the entire list of nominees on the James Beard website. Good luck to all the nominees!
