Father's Day Food + Drink Specials
It's Father's Day this Sunday, June 16. Sure, you could get him a tie, a barbecue grill, or an electronic 5-in-1 gadget from Brookstone that he'll likely never use. Or you can show appreciation for all that he's done for you with a good meal and a stiff drink. So we compiled a list of restaurants from casual to more formal that can help you celebrate -- whether by a 3-course meal or a special drink-of-the-day. Note: All deals apply to Sunday, June 16 only.
All fathers celebrating their day at Bouchon Bistro -- open for brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. -- will receive a free glass of Thomas Keller's White Apron Pilsner and a jelly doughnut. For Father's Day, Descanso Gardens will have on menu a barbecue set lunch with Carolina-style BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, grilled corn on the cob with spicy Sriracha butter, and endless root beer floats for $37 per adult and $15 per child, ages 4-12. Daniel Roberts will offer a three-course brunch for $42 per person from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The choices will include Dungeness crab cakes, short rib hash, triple prime beef burger, flatiron steak and eggs, and Meyer lemon olive oil cake, plus bottomless mimosas. 4451 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey; (310) 823-6395.
At all three Chaya locations all day Sunday, fathers can check out the special BBQ menu paired with Golden Road brews. Each location features a unique set of dishes, such as grilled Moromi miso octopus and grilled Kurobuta pork ribs at the Downtown location. The Westchester cantina is offering a special for dads -- $25 buys him a steak-and-eggs brunch, a draft beer, and a Cinco t-shirt. The offer is available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 7241 W. Manchester Ave., Los Angeles; (310) 910-0895.
Pascal Lorange will offer a three-course Provençal brunch menu at $40 per person, featuring options like crab and heirloom tomato salad, carne cruda, and truffle mushroom fontina scrambled eggs from noon to 2:45 p.m.. A free glass of bellini or mimosa is included in the prix-fixe. Four Seasons is celebrating Father's Day with a brunch buffet that features specialty stations like a meatballs and mac-n-cheese bar, farmers market salads, seafood, and sushi. The buffet is $95 per person and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 300 S. Doheny Dr., Los Angeles; (310) 273-2222.

All day, dads will receive one free Summer Shandy (beer plus lemonade) when he purchases a signature burger like the PCB (Americanized dashi cheese, ketchup leather, schmaltz onions, and mixed pickles), Blueprint (smoked blue cheese, pig candy, fried onions, roasted garlic steak sauce, and peppercress) or the Chef's Favorite (cheese two ways, bacon two ways, ketchup leather, an egg fried sunnyside up, and hot sauce).

Dads dining at Rick Bayless' restaurant for brunch or dinner will be given a free Mexican Old Fashioned on the rocks, a twist on the classic cocktail with Chinaco anejo tequila, chocolate bitters, an orange rind and a splash of soda. All dads who visit Simmzy's in either Long Beach or Manhattan Beach on Father's Day will get their first pint of beer for a penny. There will be a $40 tasting special at STREET this Sunday, pairing six different dumplings with six different beers. In a reversal of deals, your dad will get to eat free with you at almost all U.S. locations of The Counter -- with the exception of the one at the Miami airport -- all day on Father's Day. The deal is each dad will receive a standard 1/3-pound burger (no bison or market select burger) if he is accompanied by one paying guest.
Tres by José Andrés
Tres will feature a Father's Day brunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which will include a roasted beef ribeye carving station, a caviar display, cheeses and charcuterie, along with assorted desserts. The buffet is $52 per person. 465 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles; (310) 247-0400.
