There's a new lunch spot open at the corner of Vine and Santa Monica in Hollywood, and soon it will be a breakfast and dinner spot as well. Farmboy Kitchen soft opened last week, and chef/owner Hunter Fox is billing it as a California deli.

As you can see from the photo above, the space is kind of country industrial (which, come to think of it, would be a good new music genre!), with concrete floors, high ceilings, white subway-tiled walls and rustic wooden furniture, some of which was made with reclaimed wood from nearby Hollywood buildings.

You can see the menu, below. For now, it is mainly sandwiches and salads, along with rotisserie chicken and sides including "pots" of chili or black eyed peas, served in mini Le Crueset casseroles. Fox grew up on a farm in Virginia before moving to the West Coast and working in several restaurants in San Francisco and Los Angeles. He says that everything is sourced from local farmers and made in-house, including the breads and pastries.

For now the restaurant is serving lunch six days a week, with breakfast and dinner hours set to begin in early March, as well as weekend brunch service. There's also a beer and wine license in the works, though we all know how long those things can take in the good old city of Los Angeles.

Farmboy Kitchen is currently open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily except Sunday.
