Fare Today, Gone Tomorrow: August's Restaurant Openings and Closures

While some turn to binge eating when depression hits, others fast. Fare Today, Gone Tomorrow: August's Restaurant Openings and Closures
All'Angelo

The month of August marked the closing of All'Angelo, Stefano Angaro's beloved Italian restaurant on Melrose, as well as the Los Feliz branch of Cobras and Matadors, expected to be replaced by Umami Burger this month.

It is hard to see some of our favorite joints put away their pans, but just as new growth will push its way into the charred San Gabriels, new restaurants will open in Los Angeles. Lemonade introduced a third location on Abbot Kinney this month while Santa Monica welcomed the Fifth Amendment Alehouse and Sevan Azarian-Abdessian's charming Recess was greeted by Glendale. Other new restaurants of note are Cacao Mexicatessen in Eagle Rock and Santa Monica classic Pancho's Taco's which relocated to Culver City after a two-and-a-half-year closure.
