Cassell's Burgers Opening Next Week in Koreatown
Cassell's at the Hotel Normandie
Back in 2012, longtime L.A. favorite Cassell's Hamburgers shuttered their last location with a promise to reopen in Koreatown's Normandie Hotel.
The restaurant was originally opened in 1948 by Al Cassell, who died in 2010 at 98. The business had moved a few times and eventually been sold to new owners after Cassell retired. The owners of the Normandie purchased the business in mid-2012 with plans to move it into the hotel. This coming Monday, that plan will come to fruition.
The new corner spot on the ground floor of the Normandie (behind the Line Hotel on the corner of W. 6th. and S. Normandie) is swanky and retro, with a clean white interior. Apart from burgers, they'll have an espresso component, milkshakes, a "'50s breakfast," and a full bar program.
Sign on the door of the new Cassell's
The sign on the door says the restaurant will soft-open this coming Monday Dec. 22, with full hours and official opening on Jan. 15.
Cassell's Burgers, 605 South Normandie Avenue Koreatown.
