Carne Asada Sunday at Dodger Stadium: Our Dinner With Andre

If you have no plans on Sunday, July 28, you probably could do a whole lot worse than to spend the afternoon at a ball game followed by some carne asada right off the grill. Especially when the ball game involves the Dodgers (versus the Cincinnati Reds), and the cookout will be hosted by Andre Ethier. You know, the Dodgers outfielder and food blogger.
The event, Carne Asada Sunday, is one that Nomar Garciaparra began during his brief time as a Dodger; after he retired, a few other players, including Ethier, took turns at playing host. This year, the carne asada will start to sizzle after the baseball game; tickets are $50, plus the cost of the game if you want to go to that, too (you should go to that, too). Proceeds from the event will benefit Union Rescue Mission.
In addition to sharing some carne asada with Ethier, your ticket also gets you a Dodgers gift bag, a photo opportunity and a chance to ask him a few questions. Like what? Like whether he spends his time in the dugout listening to Vin Scully calling the game. Or what's going through his head when he makes a catch like this one. Or where to get fry bread in L.A.
