3 Tasty Fundraisers for Taste of the Nation
Taste of the Nation LA, which raises money for hungry children in Los Angeles, returns to Culver City on June 12th, but local restaurants are getting in on the act with fundraisers before then. Why? Because approximately 1 in 4 children in Los Angeles go hungry every day.
Chef Kerry Simon will be giving away free wine and cupcakes at the Simon LA and Sofitel happy hour. All attendees have a chance to win a $100 SimonLA gift card, and anyone who purchases a discount ticket to TOTNLA for $85 (normally $100) will be entered to win a two-night stay at the Sofitel. A percentage of the scarlet sea scallop with yellow beets and goat cheese as well as the petite mitzuna appetizer and drink specials will be donated to TOTNLA.

Hatfield's is hosting a tasting featuring some of their signatures dishes like duck confit in buckwheat crepe, goat cheese panna cotta, zucchini fritters, deviled quail eggs with smoked trout, mini crème fraiche cheesecakes and a Karlsson's peach cocktail. The $50 ticket includes passed appetizers and a complementary cocktail. A cash bar will also be available. Guests can purchase TOTNLA tickets on this night only for $25 off general admission and $40 off VIP.

If you've ever wanted to bowl at The Spare Room but balked at the $100-per-hour lane fee, Game On! is the benefit for you. The evening includes appetizers, cocktail punches, board games, a Connect Four contest and a bowling tournament. Grand prize is a night's stay at the Roosevelt as well as TOTNLA tix. There are three different tiers of entry, but a $50 ticket gets you an hour of bowling. TOTNLA tickets will be available for purchase on this night only at a $25 off for bowlers and $15 off for gamers and general attendees.
