31-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near County Road 446

GRIMES COUNTY, TX (April 24, 2024)Jon Archer died Friday morning and Kaylin Corbin was injured in a semi-truck collision on State Highway 105. The incident occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m., near County Road 446 on April 5th.

Upon arrival, officers found that Corbin, aged 29, was behind the wheel of a 2021 Nissan sedan. For reasons yet to be determined, the Nissan swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into an eastbound 2015 Freightliner semi-truck.

The Nissan carried a 3-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a passenger in the front seat. The front seat passenger, identified as 31-year-old Archer, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Corbin and the 3-year-old were rushed to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital, while the 4-year-old was taken to Memorial Herman with severe injuries.

Authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the incident.
