19-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near 33rd Avenue

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (April 25, 2024) Noah Garcia died Tuesday night, and five were injured in a car crash on Cathedral Canyon Drive.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:21 p.m., near the intersection of 33rd Avenue and Corral Road.

According to reports, a speeding vehicle heading northbound collided with a car making a left turn. The impact propelled the first vehicle northward, causing it to hit two mailboxes and two parked vehicles.

As a result, emergency responders transported the driver of the first vehicle to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Bureau later identified the deceased driver as 19-year-old Noah Garcia. Meanwhile, Garcia’s passengers—a male juvenile, a female juvenile, a 20-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old woman—sustained injuries from the accident.

Additionally, the driver of the second vehicle remained unharmed, but their passenger required treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. All five individuals involved were taken to local hospitals for medical care.

Officials are asking anyone who witnessed the fatal two-vehicle crash to contact the Cathedral City Police Department at 760-770-0300. Once available, further details will be provided.
