Instead of staying home and watching the Academy Awards on the boob tube, you walk down Cinespaces red carpet with other celebs and attend the Visual Communications Oscar party , where youll be part of a community that is dedicated to the honest and accurate portrayals of Asian-Pacific Americans, their communities and heritage through the media arts. Founded in 1970, VC is a nonprofit organization that funds the creation and presentation of media works within this community. Its members filmmakers, artists, photographers and educators function as historical experts to educate the public by documenting events, creating learning kits, audiotaping personal stories, as well as photographing and collecting images to keep things real in the presentation of the arts.
