One of my British friends rolls her eyes in disgust when she hears me pronounce Monty Python Mahntee PYE-THON rather than Mahntee PYE-th'n, which is how everyone in the world except me says it (she says), even though my mispronunciation is listed as the preferred pronunciation in all but the Oxford English Dictionary, probably.
