With American Ballet Theater and New York City Ballet occupying large swaths of the landscape in New York City, this 9-year-old chamber company has established and held turf as a lean, mean ballet machine that appeals to more adventurous audiences. Led by former NYCB principal Judith Fugate and Boston Ballet/Béjart alum Medhi Bahiri, the troupe specializes in repertoire anchored by George Balanchine and accented by offerings from some of the more arresting choreographers working today.
