Woman in Shower Raped in Mar Vista; Person of Interest Captured on Video
Cops today circulated photos of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the rape of a woman who was taking a shower in her Mar Vista apartment when she was attacked.
The forced sexual assault, as the LAPD describes it, happened on the afternoon of May 31, but images of a man are just now being publicized in hopes that someone might recognize him and come forward.
The guy is not necessarily a suspect:
For now police are calling him a "person of interest" and "possible witness" who was apparently in the building at the time and might have seen something.
Cops aren't giving us even a rough location, but they stated:
This appears to be an isolated incident and should not cause the community to be alarmed.
The victim was described as a woman in her 20s. The attack happened about 3:30 p.m., police said.
The person of interest was captured via security video.
If you know who that is detectives would like to hear from you: 213-473-0447.
