UPDATE at 10:05 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, 2015: Mad Decent said in a statement that the woman in question went overboard "intentionally." See more below.
The U.S. Coast Guard searched overnight for a woman reported to have gone overboard during a five-day boat party organized by a Los Angeles record label.
The search was focused 22 nautical miles off the coast of Cuba, the Coast Guard said in a statement. The cruise ship in question was hosting the Mad Decent Boat Party and left Miami on Wedesday en route to Cozumel, Mexico.
Los Angeles–based Mad Decent is the record label and party concern run by electronic dance music and hip-hop DJ Diplo, perhaps best known for having once dated singer Katy Perry.
Diplo, Dillon Francis, A-Trak, Borgore and more were headliners on the boat.
The Coast Guard says crew members on the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship contacted it to report that a woman "had fallen from the deck of the ship" at 7 p.m. EST yesterday, it said.
"The Coast Guard cutter Alligator and an aircrew aboard a C-130 from Air Station Clearwater are en route to assist in the search for the woman," the agency stated.
We reached out to a publicist for Mad Decent but had yet to hear back.
Electronic dance music boat parties, around since the 1990s, are growing in popularity, buoyed by a new generation of fans.
The people behind the L.A.-based Hard festivals appear to have re-energized the floating venue in 2012 with their launch of an event called Holy Ship, which features some of the same talent booked by the Mad Decent Boat Party.

Hard has had problems of its own.
Two young women died after attending the Hard Summer festival at the Pomona Fairplex, prompting officials to consider a ban on EDM parties at county-run venues.
UPDATE at 10:05 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, 2015: Mad Decent said in a statement that the woman in question went overboard "intentionally." Here's what the label stated:
Thursday, November 12, during the chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel. The ship's crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.
