St. Patrick's Day is Tuesday, but that won't stop the Los Angeles Police Department from raining on your parade.

Whether you're Latino, Asian American, African American, white or Armenian, we're all going to be a little bit Irish next week. But if you get popped this weekend for a DUI, you'll be hungover before the party even starts. Plus, the cost of dealing with a first-DUI case in California is estimated to be nearly $16,000 dollars.

Don't depend on the luck of the Irish. Just don't drink and drive.

The LAPD and other law enforcement agencies are warning you when and where they'll be looking for drunks behind the wheel this weekend and beyond. The department argues that if you know, you won't go.

Here's the 411:

-Tonight from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. a checkpoint will be waiting for you on Slauson Avenue at Vermont Avenue in South L.A.

-Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the L.A. Sheriff's Department will be operating a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Palmdale.

-Tomorrow, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., a DUI checkpoint will be running on Osborne Street at Laurel Canyon Boulevard in picturesque Pacoima.

-Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. the L.A. Sheriff's Department will be hosting St. Patrick's Day checkpoints at undisclosed locations in beautiful Bellflower and Pico Rivera.

-Tuesday, at times unknown, the sheriff's department will have drunk-driver patrols roaming the streets of the twin cities of Palmdale and Malibu.

-Tuesday, at times unknown, Burbank and Pasadena police will be "deploying" what they call "roving DUI patrols" throughout their respective cities, according to nearly identical statements.

Be safe.
