Union Protest Doesn't Stop The Stars From Attending Mayor V.'s Oscar Party
Despite protests by members of the Service Employees International Union outside, the stars came out Thursday for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's pre-Oscar party at the Getty House in Windsor Square.
The bash celebrating Academy Award nominees was co-hosted by The Hollywood Reporter at the city's official mayoral residence. Party photos show Eva Longoria Parker, Ryan Seacrest, Marlee Matlin, Morgan Freeman and Mel Gibson in the house.
We've ribbed Mayor V. for jetting to Europe, appearing on soap operas and hanging out at the Grammy Awards while the city suffers its worst budget crisis in decades. But who could resist schmoozing with Hollywood's elite during the industry's biggest week? Certainly not our mayor.
