Flames caused $150,000 in damage to a Long Beach underground club, Long Beach fire authorities told us this week. They say it started ... near the jacuzzi.

The blaze at Babe's Warehouse in Long Beach was originally reported to have caused $100,000 but Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Steve Yamamoto told the Weekly today it was more like 150.

The fire at 1517 W. Esther St. in LBC was reported ...

... about 7:50 a.m. Monday. Yamamoto said firefighters had the thing out within four minutes of their arrival, but not before it did some decent damage (see photos).

The blaze appears to have started in a "recreation area" near a jacuzzi, he told us. (A club with a jacuzzi?). A car wash next door sustained a little damage and had its power temporarily knocked out during the fire, Yamamoto said.

The place appeared to book bands and DJs.

The cause was still under investigation.
