The $500 Valentine the Whole City Will See
If you're a true romantic with several hundred dollars to burn, the folks at ride-sharing app Uber have a deal for you.
For $500 you can send a custom note to your amor. And we're not talking about a text message. We're talking about a grand, skywriting statement in the heavens above Los Angeles.
And - and - you can get this done through your smartphone:
The app company this week announced its UberSKY program for L.A., San Diego, New York and Dallas. It includes skywriting done between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Uber claims it's a $10,000 value.
You have to go through Uber's app (the UberSKY option) to do this, and you get 12 characters for your five Franklins. The company warns, however, that demand might be high:
... Be persistent if you're unable to order skywriting on your first try ... You'll be notified when your message will appear in the great blue yonder.
Use Uber for a ride tonight and you "will have a good chance of getting a rose and a special ProFlowers discount card," the company states.
