Store Owner Shot in The Head at Point-Blank Range, Survives: LAPD Searching For Three Robbers in Mid-City Area

The owner of a mom-and-mom shop in the Mid-City neighborhood of Victoria Park was shot in the head point-blank during a robbery and survived, police said today.

It happened in the 1300 block of Second Avenue near Pico Boulevard about 9:30 last night, according to an LAPD statement.

... demanded that an employee lead them to the owner, according to the LAPD.

The owner was then robbed of "several thousand dollars in cash" before one of the suspects put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. According to the police statement " ... the shot was not fatal."

Whew.

Though he was hospitalized in serious condition the owner was expected to survive.
