Skateboarder Wields Ax on SoCal Freeway, Leads CHP on High-Speed Chase
A sick new move that has rocked the skateboarding world in a way not seen since Tony Hawk's historic "900" was completed near The Birdman's hometown of San Diego this week.
That's right, authorities allege that 24-year-old Thomas Robert Landry of San Diego executed the "5150" flawlessly, starting with an ax-wielding freak out in the center of the 15 freeway and culminating with a high-speed chase and a police dog take-down.
Authorities say it all started about 9:30 a.m. yesterday when the CHP started getting calls about an pick-ax-wielding, shirtless skateboarder riding and walking along the center median on the 15 freeway near Overland Drive in Temecula, according to San Diego's North County Times.

After authorities tried to praise his street skills, Landry went for his nearby Honda Civic and allegedly led them on a car chase north at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, according to the report.
Ultimately cops caught up with the Civic and nudged it into a pursuit-ending spin with a "PIT maneuver," but Landry's trick wasn't over just yet:
Part of the deal is not giving up and getting bitten by a canine, apparently. And so it was.
Landy was hospitalized (of course), and destined for jail, according to the N.C. Times: Drug use was suspected. Such maneuvers require, at the least, liquid courage.
Legendary? Yes. Worth it? Not sure.
And, of course: Don't try this at home kids.
