SF Giants Fans to Fly 'BEAT LA' Banner Over Dodger Stadium on Opening Day
Tell us, Los Angeles: Are you going to stand for this?
Update: Street-art blog LA Taco won't. We quote:
"People of Los Angeles, we cannot let this potential aggression stand. LA TACO will organize a boycott and shaming campaign of any Los Angeles pilot who takes filthy Frisco funds to denigrate Los Angeles and our 5 championships. Spread the word and we'll keep the pressure on. Go Dodgers."
A group of diehard stadium-rushers up in NorCal are currently well on their way to raising $8,000 for a giant banner to fly over Dodger Stadium on March 31, April 2 and April 3.

It would serve as a territory marker for the San Francisco Giants -- reigning World Series champions -- during the first three games of the Major League Baseball season, which they'll play against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
What'll it read? (Please refrain from grabbing a baseball bat and taking out your rage on the gf's heirloom cabinet. Save it for Frisco. Please.)
According to Faithful Supporters of the World Champion San Francisco Giants, better known as Fuck Yeah! Shut Up, Inc. (FYSU) -- told you they were crazy -- it'll be tagged with the words "Giants 2010 Champs: BEAT LA."
This, dear Angelenos, is war. If your blood still hasn't reached a rollicking boil, here's a clip from the fundraising website:
Two years ago one man came up with an idea. He waited for the perfect time to enact this diabolical, yet beautiful concept. One concept, one idea, that would shock the sports world while leaving Southern California feeling empty inside. Now is the time. ...
It is a great way to pay tribute to The World Champion San Francisco Giants while giving the other organization a taste of what it is like to be World Series Champions: something they haven't tasted since 1988.
They're collecting donations toward the $8,000 project in the form of stadium seats with arbitrary names, ranging from the $20 "Timmy's Doobie Fund" (stupid stoners) to the $100 "Cream and Clear" (awkward) to the $500 "Say Hey Kid" (seriously, who came up with these).
And according to the website, "the organizers of the Banner Event are 45 percent toward their goal."
FYSU calls the downtown Dodger Stadium a "hostile environment" -- damn right, wussies! -- and detail the plan as "[flying] a banner 3 miles above Chavez Ravine... for the Thursday, Saturday and Sunday games for an hour and 20 minutes."
That's four hours too long, freaks. Dodger Stadium may have 99 problems, but anti-L.A. propaganda isn't one. Y'all don't know who you're messing with.
