Sergio Hernandez, L.A. Homicide No. 35: Man Shot while using Payphone
The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for the person responsible for the shooting death of 26-year-old Sergio Hernandez March 4. At around 5:15 p.m., yesterday evening LAPD Olympic Area officers responded to a radio call in the 900 block of Westmoreland Avenue. Officers discovered Hernandez with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to police reports, Hernandez was using the payphone when the gunman approached and shot him. The gunman left in an awaiting black sedan driven by a get-away driver who sped off in an unknown direction.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The gunman is described as a male Hispanic between 18 and 22 years of age. The get-away driver is described as a male Hispanic between the ages of 18 and 22. Anyone with information about the shooting should contact LAPD Olympic Division detectives at (213) 382-9470.
