Saul Melchor, L.A. Homicide No. 171: Innocent Man Gunned Down in Gang Crossfire in Van Nuys
A man who was shot to death in Van Nuys August 4 has been identified as 25-year-old Saul Melchor. Melchor was driving southbound around 8:45 p.m. on the 8100 block of Langdon Avenue in his truck when he got caught in gang cross fire. He was shot once in the head. The truck he was driving crashed into some parked cars. According to media reports, Melchor, who was from Puebla, Mexico, was driving home from his work at a construction site when the attack occurred.
It was reported that his family do not have the money to send him back to Mexico for burial. Anyone with information about the brutal shooting should contact LAPD Van Nuys Division detectives at (818) 374-0040.
