Ray Vega, Reported BF of Manager in Crazy Bank of America Robbery, Arrested
Police announced an arrest in that crazy Bank of America robbery in which a manager had a fake bomb strapped to her and claimed she had been kidnapped.
Huntington Park police said in a statement this afternoon that the suspect they had in custody is Ray Vega, a 33-year-old from the city of Bell. And the Los Angeles Times is reporting that law enforcement sources say he's an acquaintance of ... said bank manager. ABC Eyewitness News went one further, saying the guy is the manager's boyfriend. The investigation quickly shifted to Huntington Park, where a bank employee lived and reported having been kidnapped from her residence and forced to participate in the robbery.
On Thursday, September 6, 2012, at approximately 6 pm, Ray Vega, a 33-year-old, male Hispanic resident of Bell was arrested in connection with this case.

The woman claimed to have been kidnapped the night of Sept. 4, held overnight and taken to her East L.A. bank branch with a bomb strapped to her to grab cash about 8:30 a.m. Sept. 5.
She's still a free woman and hasn't been named a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
