Murder was the Case: LA Homicide No. 299, One Killed, Two Hurt in Gang-Related Shooting in West Los Angeles
A teenager was shot and killed and two other people were wounded outside of an apartment complex in West Los Angeles December 20.

The shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 8500 block of Beverlywood Street. Police say a group of people were standing in front of an apartment building when a gunman across the street open fired on them. Three victims were hit and rushed to local hospitals. Nelson Salazar, Jr., 18, died from his injuries and two others were treated and released.
According to witnesses, the suspect was last seen on foot wearing a dark-hooded sweat shirt. His ethnicity is unknown. Anyone with information about these shootings was asked to call West Los Angeles detectives at (310) 444-1520.
