Murder Was the Case: L.A. Homicide No. 216, Hawthorne Man Gunned Down After Church
A Hawthorne man who attended a church service with his niece was shot after he drove her home and visited with family on August 30.

Puncho Eteuati, 32, was standing on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Ronan Avenue, talking to members of his family, when the unknown shooter walked northbound on Ronan from M Street and fired numerous rounds at him. Eteuati was struck multiple times in the upper torso. He was transported to a local hospital where he died an hour and a half later of his injuries. Police do not know the motive yet for the 10:30 p.m. Sunday shooting. Anyone with information should contact Harbor Division detectives at (310) 726-7881.
